Hillary Clinton:
Hillary proposes to fix our immigration system and make America stick to its values that we are a nation of immigrants and that we embrace it. She plans on doing this by creating an immigration reform that will give a pathway and equal rights to all immigrants. (HillaryClinton.com) She will also end the three-and-ten year bars and she will also defend president Obama's executive actions of DAPA and DACA. (HillaryClinton.com) Additionally, she plans to work to defend families as much as she can under the law and will be humane when enforcing immigration laws. She also plans to close down all private detention centers. Hillary will provide healthcare to all families and will support immigration integration.
Donald Trump:
Donald Trump believes in putting America first through eliminating illegal immigrants within the United States. (donaldjtrump.com) Donald Trump has proposed a ten point plan in an attempt to diminish illegal immigration. Given that a staggering 59% of illegal immigrants come from Mexico, one component of his plan is to build an unbreakable wall around Mexico. In a recent speech, Donald Trump stated “I will build a great wall — and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me — and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.” (donaldjtrump.com) Additionally, he plans to arrest anyone who illegally crosses the border and will send them back to their native country without any exceptions. Donald will also deport all criminal aliens in order to keep America safe. He believes in doing so because many of these illegal immigrants are taking Americans' jobs. He hopes it will help boost the American economy. (donaldjtrump.com)
Gary Johnson:
Gary Johnson’s view on how immigration should be approached is the opposite of Donald Trump's. He believes that we should simply make the availability of work visas more efficient and we should scrutinize the people attempting to enter the country more cautiously. He stated on his own website, (Johnsonweld.com), “We should appreciate and respect the diversity of immigrants that come to the United States to be productive members of society. But we also need to recognize that everyone who comes here is not so well-intentioned.”
Jill Stein:
Jill Stein believes that America is made from immigration. (www.ontheissues.org)
”We are a nation of immigrants--and immigrants are a critical component of our economy. In Alabama, their tomato industry collapsed to the tune of billions of dollars when they passed very harsh anti-immigrant laws and consequently, the immigrants left town. That state learned the hard way how valuable the immigrant sector was to their economy. And that's true nationally.” (Source: 2011 AmericanElect interview questionaire with Jill Stein , Dec 21, 2011) She wants to make a legal pathway for both illegal immigrants and legal immigrants to become U.S. citizens. She does not want a pathway whatsoever for the criminals coming into the country. She also wants to end the war on immigration. (www.ontheissues.org)
