Donald Trump:
Donald Trump’s view on welfare is that it should be more restricted than it is right now and that we should really pay more attention to fraud within the welfare system. Donald Trump states that the food stamps program should only be for momentary help and not for people to dwell on for a decade.(http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Donald_Trump_Welfare_+_Poverty.htm) “ People don’t have incentives. They make more money by sitting there doing nothing than they make if they have a job. We have to create incentives that they actually do much better by working. Right now, they have a disincentive. They have an incentive not to work.”(http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Donald_Trump_Welfare_+_Poverty.htm)
Gary Johnson:
Gary Johnson wants to put more restriction on the people trying to acquire welfare but for people who have already gotten it he does not want them to go through anything else. For example; he does not want to do any drug tests on people that are already on welfare. (http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Gary_Johnson_Welfare_+_Poverty.htm)
Jill Stein:
Jill Stein’s main point is to make housing more affordable for people. “We will honor the right to accessible and affordable utilities--heat, electricity, phone, internet, and public transportation--which will be made available to all through democratically run, publicly owned utilities that operate at cost, not for profit. In honoring these rights we will create the basis for a new economy--an economy that is stable and not vulnerable to speculation.” (http://www.ontheissues.org/2012/Jill_Stein_Welfare_+_Poverty.htm)
